ALERT! New Processes for Family Reunification

DHS is creating new family reunification permit processes for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Colombia. The agency is also modernizing existing family reunification permit processes for Cuba and Haiti. These processes, when completed, will allow verified individuals with already approved family petitions to be temporarily admitted to the United States on a case-by-case basis. The United States government will provide timely and efficient authorization for those approved and verified to travel. Individuals temporarily admitted to the US under these processes would be eligible to apply for work authorization.

To accomplish this, the United States is joining partners to open Regional Processing Centers throughout the Western Hemisphere to Facilitate Access to Legal Pathways. In a historic move, the United States along with other Los Angeles Declaration countries announced today that they will establish Regional Processing Centers (RPCs) in key locations throughout the Western Hemisphere to reduce irregular migration and facilitate safe, orderly, humane pathways. and legal from the Americas. The first centers will be established in several countries, including Colombia and Guatemala. People in the region will be able to make an appointment on their phone to visit the nearest RPC before traveling, receive an interview with immigration specialists and, if eligible, be quickly processed for legal pathways to the United States, Canada and Spain.
