Esta ley aplica a casi todos los trabajadores en Nueva Jersey.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo debo avisar a mi empleador?<\/strong><\/p><p>Para licencias planificadas, como citas m\u00e9dicas o escolares, el empleador puede exigir hasta siete (7) d\u00edas de aviso previo y puede limitar el uso de la licencia durante per\u00edodos ocupados previamente informados. Si la licencia no fue planificada, debe avisar lo antes posible. Si no existe un requisito de aviso establecido, el empleador debe permitir el uso de la licencia sin aviso previo.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfPuede el empleador pedirme documentaci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p><p>El empleador no puede exigir documentaci\u00f3n por uno o dos d\u00edas consecutivos de licencia. Puede solicitarla solo cuando la ausencia sea de tres o m\u00e1s d\u00edas consecutivos. El empleador puede preguntar el motivo, y si no se permite exigir documentaci\u00f3n, debe asumir que el motivo es v\u00e1lido.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo deben pagarme la licencia por enfermedad?<\/strong><\/p><p>La licencia debe pagarse a su tarifa regular por hora y no puede ser menor al salario m\u00ednimo estatal. Si su pago var\u00eda, se calcula con el promedio de los \u00faltimos siete d\u00edas trabajados. Si recibe comisi\u00f3n, se usa su salario base por hora o el salario m\u00ednimo, el que sea mayor.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfEs privada mi informaci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p><p>Su informaci\u00f3n debe mantenerse confidencial y solo puede compartirse con su permiso por escrito.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo recibo el pago?<\/strong><\/p><p>El pago por la licencia utilizada debe realizarse en el mismo per\u00edodo de pago, junto con su cheque regular o por otro m\u00e9todo f\u00e1cil de recibir.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 no puede exigir el empleador?<\/strong><\/p><p>El empleador no puede obligarlo a reponer horas ni a buscar un reemplazo para su turno.
