USCIS Extends Flexibilities Related to COVID-19

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has extended certain flexibilities related to COVID-19 through January 24, 2023, to assist applicants and petitioners. Under these flexibilities, USCIS will consider a response received within 60 calendar days of the due date set forth on the following requests or notices before taking any action, if we issue the request or notice any time after March 1, 2020: until January 24, 2023, inclusive:

  • Requests for Evidence;
  • Continuations of Requests for Evidence (N-14);
  • Notices of Intent to Deny;
  • Notice of Intent to Revoke;
  • Notices of Intent to Rescind;
  • Notices of Intent to Terminate Regional Centers, and
  • Motions to Reopen an N-400 Pursuant to 8 CFR 335.5, Receipt of Derogatory Information After Grant.

In addition, USCIS will consider a Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion, or Form N-336, Request for Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings (Under Section 336 of the INA), if:

  • The form was filed within 90 calendar days of the issuance of a decision we made, and
  • We make that decision anytime from November 1, 2021 to January 24, 2023, inclusive.

As a reminder, the flexibility on reproduced signatures announced March 2020 it became permanent policy on July 25, 2022.
