SkillUp New Jersey: Free Virtual Training Program
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) has launched SkillUp New Jersey, a free virtual training program to help job seekers anywhere in the state improve their skills and train for certifications. .
Metrix Learning platform offers New Jersey workers more than 5000 online courses from Skillsoft, which are widely used by Fortune 500 companies, in a variety of high-demand industry sectors, including, but not limited to, information technology, business analytics, Customer Service, project management, and digital literacy.
Available courses range from basic job readiness skills for new workers to customized training for high-level professionals and managers, with topics such as Customer Service, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Quick Books, Analytical Skills, Data Management/Reporting, Time Management, Leadership Skills, Health and Safety and First Aid, among many others. Additionally, the platform offers training tracks that lead to more than 100 industry certifications.
A link to the SkillUp New Jersey website will be emailed to all current unemployment claimants. But the tool can be used free of charge for 180 days by any resident.
