Adjustment of Immigration Status for Military Family Members Without Leaving the United States
The military Parole in Place (PIP) program is designed to benefit certain family members of United States service members. Eligible family members include spouses, parents, and children of individuals who: Are on active duty in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. Are in the selected reserve or on the reserve roster. Have previously served on active duty or in the selected reserve or reserve roster, and have not been dishonorably discharged.
Lawful Permanent Residence: Key USCIS Update for Naturalization Applicants
Policies to clarify how lawful permanent residence is assessed during the naturalization process. Previously, USCIS considered whether applicants met the requirements for lawful admission both upon their initial entry and upon subsequent re-entry. Under the new guidance, effective November 14, 2024, the agency will only assess lawful admission at the time of initial adjustment or admission as a lawful permanent resident (LPR).
