The Internal Revenue Service in its commitment to provide meaningful service and assistance to meet the needs of taxpayers. It will open many IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) one Saturday each month in February, March, April and May, from 9 am to 4 pm, to offer in-person help without an appointment (typically, the TAC are open during the week by appointment).

To make your visit more effective come prepared. The IRS can ask you for documents such as:

• Current government-issued photo ID
• Social Security cards for members of your household, including spouse and dependents (if applicable)
• Any letters or notices received from the IRS and related documents
• If you plan to apply for identity verification services, you must bring two kinds of identification and a copy of the tax return filed for the year in question, if you filed a return.

Additionally, during your visit IRS staff may also request the following information:

• A current mailing address 
• Proof of bank account information you included on your tax return to receive direct deposit payments or refunds.

Should professional interpretation of foreign languages ​​be required, these services will be available in many languages ​​through a translation service over the phone. IRS staff will schedule appointments for a later date for people who are deaf or hard of hearing who need sign language interpreter services.
