Refugees or asylees, or family members of a refugee or asylee can apply for permanent residence (green card) 1 year after entering the United States under this status.

If you were granted asylum in the United States, your application for permanent residence must be made one year after your asylee status is granted.

As a refugee, permanent residence must be applied for within one year of being admitted to the United States with refugee status.
