VENEZUELA DESIGNATED TO TEMPORARY PROTECTION STATUS (TPS)
The New Designation Allows Eligible Venezuelans to Apply for TPS and Employment Authorization Documents The Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, has designated Venezuela to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months, until September 2022. This new designation The TPS for Venezuela allows Venezuelan nationals (and non-nationals whose last habitual residence was Venezuela) currently residing in the United States to submit initial applications for TPS, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Individuals must submit during the initial 180-day registration period beginning March 9, 2021, through September 5, 2021:
Submit an Initial Venezuela TPS Application (Form I-821)
They can also submit an application for employment authorization (Form I-765).
Demonstrate continuous residence in the United States since March 8, 2021;
In addition to demonstrating that they have been physically present continuously in the United States since March 9, 2021, the effective date of this designation of Venezuela. and who meet other eligibility criteria
