Treasury and IRS extend tax filing and payment deadline to May 17
The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that the 2020 federal tax filing deadline extends from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021 (IR-2021-59, 17 March 2021). The IRS will provide guidelines in the coming days. This change comes after legislators, tax professionals and others put intense pressure on the IRS to give taxpayers more time to file their 2020 federal tax returns.

New Jersey residents will be able to schedule driver's license appointments regardless of immigration status
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJ MVC) is committed to implementing driver's licenses for all persons residing in the state of New Jersey, regardless of immigration status, as seamlessly as possible.

USCIS Implements Decision Abolishing Final Public Charge Rule
Pursuant to the decision voiding the Final Public Charge Rule, USCIS immediately stopped applying the Final Public Charge Rule to all pending applications and petitions that would have been subject to said rule. USCIS will no longer apply the separate but related “public benefits status” to applications and petitions for extension of nonimmigrant stay and change of nonimmigrant status.
