CENSUS 2020 "The person who is not counted remains invisible for the next ten years"

IACO is committed to supporting the NJ-Census 2020 initiative to ensure that our communities are fully counted and represented in the next United States Census, because the fair distribution of federal funds for the next 10 years depends on it, for schools, hospitals, roads and public works across the country, as well as the redefinition of seats in Congress.

Because the stakes are so high, we ALL MUST AND CAN respond to the 2020 Census, regardless of your immigration status, race, age, economic status or education, because it is the real and practical opportunity we have to help the well-being of our community and for supposed to ourselves.

During the 2020 Census, no one should remain in the "shadows", there is no valid reason for someone who resides in the United States, not to respond to this survey. Participating in the 2020 Census is essential. The future prosperity of our community is determined in part by the accuracy of the data collected by the Census Bureau on the nation's population and on its racial, ethnic, and national origin groups. This data helps to ensure a fair and representative redistribution.

Census Data determines a wide range of decisions made in the public and private sectors that affect the lives of all Americans. Census data plays an indispensable role in monitoring and implementing civil rights policies, and is used to ensure the effective allocation of billions of dollars in federal, state, and local funds.

We need all IACO members to get involved to ensure that their family, friends and neighbors are counted. Remember that your information is confidential, by law, the Census Bureau cannot share any information that identifies you, your home or your business, not even with the police. Your information is protected under Title 13 of the US Code.

We invite you to carefully read this edition of "The Immigrant's Guide", where you will find detailed information on the 2020 Census.
