Everyone Can Shape the Future
You don't need to be an inventor, a scientist, or a Member of Congress to shape the future of our community. You just need to be someone who cares about your community. By being counted in the 2020 Census, you will help inform funding for local school programs, emergency services, and roads in our community.
We all count and we all have the opportunity to shape our future by participating in the 2020 Census.
Language Support
The US Census Bureau provides translated guides and websites translated into 59 languages other than English, including American Sign Language, as well as guides in Braille and large print. Click on LANGUAGES to see more.

Avoid Frauds and Scams
We are committed to making the 2020 Census quick, easy, and safe for all participants. Here are some tips to help you stay safe.
Avoid internet scams.
Phishing scam is the criminal act in which someone tries to obtain your information by pretending to be an entity that you trust. Phishing emails often direct you to a website that looks real but is fake and may be infected with malicious software.
It is important to know that the Census Bureau will not send emails requesting your participation in the 2020 Census without your request. Also, during the 2020 Census, the Census Bureau will never ask you:
- Your Social Security number
- Your bank account or credit card number.
- No money or donations
- Also, the Census Bureau will not contact you on behalf of a political party.
- Keep your home safe
If someone visits your home to collect a response for the 2020 Census, they can do the following to verify their identity:
- First, make sure the person has valid photo identification, a Department of Commerce watermark, and expiration date.
- If you still have questions, call 800-923-8282 to speak with a representative from your local Census Bureau.
- Report suspected fraud
If you suspect fraud, call 800-923-8282 to speak with a representative from your local Census Bureau. If it is determined that the person who came to your door does not work for the Census Bureau, contact your local police department.
2020 Census Jobs
Earn additional income while helping your community. The United States Census Bureau is recruiting thousands of people across the country to help with the 2020 Census count. Census takers work hours are flexible. Some temporary positions require daytime work, while others require night and weekend work.
The Immigrant Guide
IACO has created a special edition of “The Immigrant's Guide” to highlight the importance of the census. This edition contains information on how to participate in the census and what benefits your participation brings to our communities.
