New Fees for Immigration Procedures - Update 2025

In July 2025, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) updated the fees for various immigration processes. These new fees apply to administrative applications filed directly with USCIS and constitute an additional charge to the current statutory fees.

Below are the updated fees, organized by type of procedure and corresponding agency. It's important to note that these amounts are added to the general fee established for each application or procedure.

Administrative Processes before USCIS

These additional fees apply to applications submitted directly to USCIS:

  • $100 – Asylum applications (no fee waiver)
    • *An additional $100 for each year the application remains pending
  • $250 – Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Petitions
  • $500 – TPS applications (no fee waiver allowed)
  • $550 – Work Permits (EAD) under categories (c)(8), TPS, and (c)(11) (does not allow fee exemption)
    • $275 – Permit renewal (does not allow fee exemption)

These updated fees replace the previously established amounts for various immigration procedures and are applied as an additional charge to the general processing fee. Furthermore, some of these fees no longer allow exemptions, even for individuals with limited financial resources. Their implementation is in accordance with the provisions of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and USCIS, in accordance with their regulations and administrative processes. It is essential to carefully review the specific requirements and costs before submitting an application, as fees vary depending on the type of procedure and the corresponding agency.
