Visa Bulletin - October 2020

USCIS announced that the “public charge” rule will apply to all adjustment requests filed as of February 24, 2020.
USCIS states that the agency is now requiring the inclusion of I-944 with I-485 for those subject to the final rule of public charge. Applicants who do not file I-944 with applications received by USCIS after February 24, 2020, and before October 13, 2020, should expect to receive a Request for Evidence, or RFE, to submit the missing evidence. Adjustment requests received after October 13, 2020, that do not include I-944 will be rejected. However, any application for adjustment that was filed without I-944 and approved during this period will not be re-adjudicated.
USCIS Expands Flexibility to Respond to Agency Requests
USCIS announced that, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is expanding the flexibilities previously announced on March 30, 2020, to assist applicants and petitioners who respond to certain agency requests.
